Kim Wilde - Love Blonde - Top Of The Pops (1983)

Released in July 1983, Love Blonde was Kim Wilde's first 12 inch single release in the UK, and I personally remember it also including a free photo! Unfortunately, the 12" version has been taken off Youtube, and so I have replaced it with a Top Of The Pops performance which I hope you'll find just as entertaining. This was the first track to be released as a single on Kim's third album Catch As Catch Can. Sadly, the album was a bit of a flop and peaked at just #90 on the UK album chart. However, it did reach the top ten in France and Switzerland.

Love Blonde was the only hit single from the album in the UK, as the follow-up single Dancing in The Dark only reached #67. Kim Wilde experienced a bit of a rollercoaster ride with her musical career during the 80s, with 83-85 seeing only very moderate success for the British pop singer. Kim had to wait until 1986 for another British top ten hit, when You Keep Me Hangin' On topped the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S. (her biggest American hit) and #2 in her home country.
