Christy Moore - Fairytale Of New York - Pogues Cover

This acoustic version of the classic 80s Christmas song by The Pogues is one of the finest covers around. The fact that this guy is Irish helps a lot, and it just wouldn't have sounded quite right with any other accent! Christy Moore is a popular Irish folk singer, songwriter and guitarist who has released 25 solo albums since 1969. He was also the founding member of the bands Planxty and Moving Hearts.

The original version of Fairytale Of New York featured the late Kirsty MacColl on vocals and reached #2 in the UK singles chart during December 1987. A re-release of the song has reached the Top 20 charts every December since 2005, and since 2007 this has been released only as a download.
